Tras el esperadísimo lanzamiento de El viaje de Chihiro en Blu-ray, la distribuidora Vértigo Films hizo saber en el pasado Salón del Manga de Barcelona que reestrenará Mi vecino Totoro en cines.
Según anunció CineAsia en la conferencia realizada en el Salón del Manga de Barcelona celebrado a principios de noviembre, y hoy mismo en su cuenta de Twitter, la mítica película de Hayao Miyazaki Mi vecino Totoro (1988) volverá a proyectarse en los cines españoles el 4 de enero de 2019. Aún no se sabe a qué escala será este reestreno ni de cuántos días hablamos, ya que la distribuidora no ha ofrecido información oficial acerca de ello (aunque ya tiene ficha de la película en su web), pero en cualquier caso será la segunda aparición en cines del filme de Studio Ghibli, que ya en 2009 tuvo un estreno limitado gracias a Aurum.
Es un gran momento para este tipo de iniciativas ahora que los cines están aceptando con mayor naturalidad los estrenos de películas anime, y más con obras como las de Studio Ghibli que han ido ganando adeptos y un mayor aprecio con el paso de los años. Mi vecino Totoro a buen seguro que atraerá gente al cine, pero otras como la propia El viaje de Chihiro, que se estrenó en España hace ya 16 años y cuyo tirón es innegable (es la película más vendida en Blu-ray en plataformas como Amazon antes incluso de lanzarse); o El castillo ambulante (hace 12 años de su estreno), podrían ser una opción magnífica para llenar salas y ser vistas (y vividas) en pantalla grande por nuevas generaciones, y también por los más nostálgicos y viejos seguidores.
Una oportunidad perfecta para redescubrir y disfrutar al máximo una película que marcó un antes y un después en el cine de animación japonés.
